Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
One of my favourite hymns in church recently - Seek Ye First.
Has it ever come across your mind what does seeking Him first means?
It means putting His commandments, His desires, His love, His words first. It should be the center of who we are and who we desire to be. Simply put, it is to prioritise Him.
It is always easier to be said than done. How do we ensure that we constantly seek Him first in our daily life? Sometimes, I find myself only seeking him in my free time, or in times of need. It is easy to think that oh God will understand, God will forgive. But do I really want it this way? Or rather, is this something that God wants to see?
In verse Matthew 6:33, it is clear that as long as we seek Him first, all these things shall be added unto us. He has prepared blessings that are ready to be given to us, to be added to us, as long as we seek Him. He knows what we need, and He knows what He wants to be in our lives.
Everything will fall into place at God's time and method when we follow His way.
